This was our second year staying at Cannon Dam cabins. This was a great place for our family gathering. We rented seven cabins so each family had their own space for quiet times. The interior of the cabins have been freshly painted and updated. (The exterior can be deceiving) The indoor pool was very clean and provided great fun for the grandkids. The general store had just about everything we needed. We will definitely be back again. Thank you for a great experience.
Great rural area. Good off season price. Very nice, helpful owners, pet friendly, full accommodation and nice scenery. Cabin is clean. Pool nice option. Interior walls of pool itself need a scrubbing, cleaning. Would be nice to access earlier so it could be used before checking out.
We rented two cabins and they we clean and everything I expected that would suit our needs. The staff was friendly and the location was only minutes away from Black Jack Marina where we rented a boat. We look forward to renting again. Thanks Bob
Our family stayed in the cabins for 3 days last week and overall really enjoyed our stay. We were slightly disappointed in the very outdated, broken down furniture in the cabin but thankfully took our own camping chairs to use instead. Sadly the beds were terrible and no one got a restful night sleep but we loved the atmosphere and the staff at the store were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the quietness and friendliness of the site and have discussed returning next year, but hoping they have new mattresses by then so we can get some sleep this time.
I highly recommend Cannon Dam Cabins, especially for families and groups! Our Cabin was very clean and well-maintained, had all of the amenities we could have asked for plus more. The convenient store was within walking distance and everyone was very friendly, it was well-stocked with everything we had forgot to bring on our last minute trip. The fish were biting, and the kids had a blast on the playground and Pool that were on site. Our kids(plus Mom and Dad) had such a great time that they convinced us to reserve a cabin for next week. See you all soon, and thanks again!
We had such a fantastic weekend at Cannon Dam Cabins! The cabins and grounds were clean and neat, and while they were not new, they have been excellently maintained. The food at the General Store was great! We had breakfast and dinner there and it was reasonably priced and delicious. The area was peaceful and minutes away from the boat access for the lake! We came across this place by accident and we are already planning our next trip to Cannon Dam Cabins & General Store!
We stayed in these cabins the weekend of May 11-13, 2018. We thought the experience was great, we even told the lady at check-out that we would be coming back for sure! We had a hard time finding the cabins at first, but that was due to poor service and poor planning on our end. The staff was very friendly, the cabins were fully stocked as they said that they would be. Yes, as other reviews stated the towels were a little small, but bring your own and you will be fine. The beds are as comfortable as they can be. The cabins were clean, I mean we are "camping" so what would you expect? They do allow pets, but no one seemed to bring any that were disorderly, we brought ours also. The cashiers in the store were always friendly with smiling faces and the walk from the cabins to the store is extremely convenient. I am not sure that their private lake actually has any fish in it, but we were there for Mark Twain and a nice weekend away so their lake was only an added bonus! Overall, our experience was definitely 5 star and we will most definitely be back with our family!! Thank you Cannon Dam Cabins!
This is a great place to stay when visiting Mark Twain Lake for fishing or boating. It is so nice to know we can stay somewhere reasonably priced close to the lake that provides us with a comfortable place to sleep and relax after a busy day on the lake. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was easy to park with the boat and charge up the batteries. The breakfasts at the General Store were handy and yummy as well! We will definitely return on future trips.
